Remember last summer, how
I met a guy in Paris? He and I are still going strong. And it's really wonderful and amazing!
Our long distance relationship has not only survived, but in fact thrived over the last eight months. We are lucky enough to be able to visit each other about once a month. But in between, we are still very close, despite having an ocean between us. We use video chat at least five times a week, and we send emails to each other everyday. We tell each other everything, honestly – good and bad – which has really established a basis of trust and caring. He has met my parents now, and I am going to meet his family next time I go to Paris in May.
And even though there are obvious difficulties in the relationship (such as the lack of physical presence more often than not), we are both very connected to each other. The Internet sure helps a lot too! We cherish the times we do have together even more, because they are more rare. It looks like we're getting to the next step of trying to figure out how to be together...in the same country, and the same city! In the mean time, it's not too bad going to visit him in Paris, the City of Lights, where cafes abound and the sights are beautiful.
Who knew that all of this could come from just two days in Paris? I guess it really is a city for love.
