Four days in Madrid
Hi, time to start blogging in XIHA Life. What is easier to start with than minor trip to capital of Spain, Madrid.
Why Madrid?
Simple question with no so simple answer. All started about two years ago when I joined group called Children of Sodom (yes, with S, no B). CoS is cover band that in the beginning was formed to play in various inside parties many many years ago. They mainly played in events arranged by SoMK (
www.somk.fi/). Word spreaded and other gigs were played as well. Last two years the band has earned few bucks and band decided to use it for a journey. After several argues Madrid was chosen as destination. Since all members are hard working we have time to be there only for four days between 15.-18.5.2008. So Madrid, here we come!
CoS? Where the name came from?
((The story tells that there once was underground band called Sodom. Since same guys had played in that band as well the new cover band was named after that as Children of Sodom.))
The story above is incorrect. The band was named after Sodom that is band from Germany. Who told me otherwise?
The Band
The band plays rock & hard rock party music. Cult, Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, Dio, Deep Purple, Skid Row, HIM, Motörhead, Foo Fighter and also finnish songs from bands like Juliet Jonesin Sydän, Eppu Normaali, Dingo, Popeda, Yö, Uniklubi and Apulanta. The set varies and normal gigs is 2 x 45 minutes + encore.
The band has currently six members: Juha (vocals, guitar), Tune (vocals), Vesku (drums), Ile (guitar), Meukku (bass) and Kle (keyboards, btw thats me). Most of the band members has long history in playing in many different bands (thats another story, maybe I blog whole history of Somero's band scene later), but currently Juha plays in Twelve Inches (

www.cresdence.com/) and Kle in D'partment (
www.dpartment.org/). Btw, Tube from 12" is coming also to Madrid with us!
The bus from Turku leaves 4 A.M. in the morning to Helsinki! From there we continue with Finnair to Madrid. Mayby I catch the bus direcly from Volbeats gig at Turku
