Seriously, the majority of you are totally lacking what's needed to form even the most basic of phrases, let alone to engage in a somewhat productive conversation. And then you just go babbling to random people, thinking they would really be interested to communicate with you.

Pu-lease, absolutely outrageous.

Erm... I guess there's a little misunderstanding somewhere. This is a multilingual community with nearly 50 languages supported and in fact a lot of our members do not speak English at all. One of the great things about xiha is that you are allowed to use your own language. Majority of the stuff you don't understand is filtered out so you can't see it (try enabling all of the languages in the control panel to see what I mean...) but some still visible to you. smiley

Now, of course, this doesn't mean you should go and leave messages to other people in languages they don't speak (each person's profile page lists the languages they speak)... unfortunately some people do just that. smiley

yes I completely understand that, and I have nothing against multilinguality, in fact it really is a great thing. But my point was how annoying it is to try understanding someone's incomprehensible "english".

The idea of this topic was to mock people.
But oh well, I have obviously failed in trolling smiley

Right, well... as fun as trolling might be it's not really helpful for someone trying to learn a new language. Perhaps we should do some type of "brokeness" detector which would let you choose to only view messages that are xx% correct. Personally I have no problem with mistakes in someone's English but I do get a little iffy with "yhdys sana virheet" in Finnish... smiley

Sorry to ruin your topic though, I know you tried your best... another time perhaps? smiley

People are trying their best... but nobody can be perfect! even American can make mistakes!
6. sweetasian | 2008-08-27 | English
But with more trying and more talk here, people will get better and better smiley

You can't be perfect in all languages. Mostly and the normal way is that you make misstakes evan in your own language. The most important thing is that you are able to comunicate and even if your english or what ever you speak or write is not rich in the beginning there is no limit more than the limit you put on your self, and you will learn to use a more rich way to express you.
Not avery one is gifted with words and to learn languages. But that does not mean you don't have the right to try to express your selv. Take the saying: The woods would be very quiet if only the birds with the nicest song would singing.

I happen to agree with sweetasian. Some american's even speak broken English. At least their trying to speak a new language. Most american's refuse to learn another language.

I enjoy speaking English since it allows me to talk with people from other countries. I have to admit that some messages left in French are so full of mistakes or poorly written that I hardly understand them smiley

12. claudia | 2008-08-28 | English
i forgot to mention it's the 5. message in my guestbook
13. Jani | 2008-08-28 | English
Hehe... Claudia, it looks like it was made with some type of automatic translator software. The translator programs tend to be pretty bad, especially from language other than the classic French/Spanish/etc., language groups which have been in development the longest.

And no, I couldn't figure it out either... smiley

Claudia, I got curiouse so I had to read it too. Why don't you translate the text till turkish and ask someone from turkey, since the person sent it is from turkey. I also saw that he has sent the same message to a lot of people...

But I think all he tries to say is **Hi, I nice to meet you, I am from turkey and want meet new friends/ be friend with you** or something like that
15. Fanny | 2008-08-30 | English
Hi everybody.

I just would tell that it's difficult to learn another language. To result, we have to try, and make mistakes...

I'm sure that there will be some faults in this text... smiley

It could be interesting for everyone to speak with people which don't speak the same language...
If somebody want, we can correspond in French smiley
