NASA has test-driven their latest toy - a futuristic jet that resembles a flying wing. They're hoping the project will one day produce a fuel-efficient and spacious alternative to air travel. This beauty was designed by Boeing's Phantom Works with NASA and the Air Force Research Lab. It looks really cool, kind of space technology. The plane they were flying was a remote controlled miniature model only 8.5% of the real size so I guess they still have ways to go... but at least the flight was succesful. They say the design which puts the engines on top at the rear will mean quieter time inside the plane as well as on the ground... So far so good, huh? Think of this thing the size of a 747... smiley

Well... they are invisible to the radar and their job is to sneak on you so that you won't even know what killed you. It's all very impressive, but it doesn't really help your life. The "Flying Wing" at least tries to create something that will make it more convenient for people to travel the world...

Left photo: F-22 Raptor is the latest and greatest stealth fighter jet. In the tests by the US Air Force, has been completely unbeatable fighter. In one test they had 33 of F-15 Eagles against just eight F-22's. All F-15's were destroyed and the F-22 didn't take a single hit...

Right photo: F-117 Nighthawk is an older stealth fighter used by the US Air Force, but these are already being retired as "old technology".

I fly so much, this is *almost* old to me. The X-48B is something new though, how fast?
