Ok, this is a classic little exercise but always as much fun.
It's a little similar to the "mseesd up lrttees in wdros" in that it helps you understand how your brain works. Scary, really, that so much happens against our best efforts. I first thought it's easy until I realized I was doing it the wrong way, hehe. Try to go over the words below but don't read the word - just say the color!
(Hmm... the xihalife logo covers some text so here you go: Your right brain tries to say the color but your left brain insists on reading the word.)
Hi ! I tried it twice and It wasnt that difficult at all...In English!!!...I have a better Idea... there is 18 words try doing it them in 12 seconds without missing once...now we are talkin...hahaha ...ciao!
Hehe... sounds good Ricky. I actually thought it was easy too but I was in fact doing it wrong. If you're really doing it so fast and doing it right, I guess you're either super smart or you keep thinking in Spanish when you do it... or both.
This is really difficult, when you´re thinking in english... not impossible, though... especially if you do it slowly... but I agree... if you focus on thinking in another language, then it gets really easy!!
It seems all of the Chinese who replied to this topic feel that it's really easy. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that you need to learn thousands of complicated characters to be able to read and write Chinese so simple word play like this is a piece of cake? Or perhaps that it's easier when your brain is actually not really thinking in English. I find it difficult to read them quickly and say the color. Somehow when I see a word, I just tend to say what it says.
