One way to think of it is this: if I was just filling it, it's probably half full as it would get full if I kept filling it. But if I was drinking it, it's probably half empty as sooner or later it'll be completely empty. But this is negative thinking. to be positive it's better to think there's still half a glass left, so it's half full, regardless of anything else! |
